About the Role
Join a growing family-run company specialising in the supply, installation and maintenance of industrial doors and loading bay equipment across the UK.Due to continued growth, Evick Ltd is looking to recruit an Industrial Door & Loading Systems Trainee / Labourer to join our experienced engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, hands-on individual who wants to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering industry. As a Trainee Fitter's Mate, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, receive full training, and develop valuable skills with genuine opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the installation, servicing and maintenance of industrial doors, roller shutters, dock levellers and loading bay equipment.Support lead engineers on site by preparing tools, equipment and materials.
Work in a variety of industrial and commercial environments throughout the UK.
Develop practical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and welding disciplines.
Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
What We Are Looking For
Full, clean UK driving licence.Aged 18 or over (due to company insurance requirements).
Practical, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in engineering.
Willingness to learn and commit to a structured training and development programme.
Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and undertaking manual handling tasks.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and occasional weekends (paid at enhanced rates).
Live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Nottingham office.
Able to successfully pass a DBS check.
Desirable (Not Essential)
Previous experience within industrial doors, garage doors, roller shutters, mechanical fitting or a similar engineering trade.
CSCS Card.
IPAF Licence.
PASMA Certificate.
Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
